He's Almost One!

Elisha's first birthday is quickly approaching - April 16.  I can't believe it.  He still seems like such a little guy.  When Caleigh turned one, we thought she was so grown up, but I guess since we have her, he still seems like such a baby.

He is starting to progress in his sleeping.  He is been making it to about 6:00 over half the time.  We pray that the reflux is disappearing like the doctors suggested, especially since they didn't find any other problems when he had an upper GI x-ray.  I'm working on weaning him even though he refuses any type of milk from a cup.  Otherwise, he eats like a piggy.  He demands to have something to eat with his hands at each meal and loves table food. Apparently, he thinks the best tasting food comes off Caleigh's plate.

Now that he is crawling he is everywhere, mostly on the stairs, which he just recently learned to go down as well as up. In the past week, he has also started waving, clapping, high fiving, and saying "mama" (in the whiniest tone ever).  I wondered if he would ever learn to do anything, but he was just waiting to showcase it all at once.  Walking is still not on his agenda, but it doesn't break my heart.  I'm not sure I'm ready.  One joke I've heard multiple times -you teach a kids to walk and talk, and then all you tell them to do is sit down and shut up - may have a ring of truth to it.  (I hope that comment makes Lori laugh.)

Here are pictures we took for his birthday invitation.  He was in his bear coat since he is having a Brown Bear party.  You can tell from his expressions that he is a really sweet kid.  He laughs all the time and plays by himself more than Caleigh ever has.  Something has to make up for the months of crying, the quick temper, and the continual hanging on my leg.

Riding the tire swing

Climbing up the wood stack Geez-paw cut

Eating a leaf...I'm telling you, the kids will eat ANYTHING.  He also likes to eat dirt when Daddy tills the garden.

He is getting so big! Karis wouldn't drink whole milk until I added strawberry flavoring. She didn't even like chocolate milk! Be sure to post pics of his party!
